USACi and IASCA Combine World Finals

Kansas City, MO – June 1, 2005. After a series of meetings and for the collective benefit of exhibiting manufacturers, distributors and soundoff competitors, the two leading soundoff associations will present their World Finals Competition events under one roof; one BIG roof. On October 15-16, 2005 USACi and IASCA will combine forces to present for this, and hopefully many years to come, a World Finals event deserving of the title.

Bartle Hall, the site of the previous USACI World Finals will be the venue. “Kansas City has been a fantastic venue for all of our past finals. The city welcomes our event with open arms and we can expect nothing less for this monumental event ” says Ralph Randall, USACI President.

“For many years all of the soundoff orgs have placed their end-of-season competitions in close regional proximity and within the same fiscal quarter” said Paul Papadeas, President of IASCA Worldwide, Inc. “This led to a slump in participation from exhibitors who could not justify or engage the budget to support the various independent events. My research indicates that exhibitors are very willing to increase their support of one Unified World Finals event instead of choosing which season finale to participate in. The ancillary expenses of exhibiting at such events makes it cost prohibitive for them to do them all, therefore choices had to be made. This is big news for the Soundoff scene. Many thought this would never happen, including me, but here we are. I look forward to this as ‘Episode 1’ of a new beginning to a more positive industry driven direction that soundoffs will lead to.

The Mega Event will feature USACI and IASCA Final, a Tuner Jam Custom Car Show, Exhibitor showcase, local and national entertainment, and plenty of excitement for all who attend.

“Along with the Sound-Q and the IdBL SPL contests”, Papadeas said, “IASCA will be inviting several of its International affiliation judges to officiate an I.S.Q.C. (International Sound Quality Challenge). Ralph Randall has graciously offered us enough floor space to produce our newest SPL format ‘EVERBLAST Bass Boxing’ a contest that has become quite the spectator event over the last two years. I believe that the event will stimulate more industry attention and competitors support than we have seen in years”.

Show dates are: October 15 and 16, 2005. For more information regarding the Unified World Finals please visit www.soundoff.org and www.iasca.com or call USACI headquarters at 479 750 0505 or IASCA Worldwide Headquarters 386 322 1551.

MOBILE ELECTRONIC NEWS - Aug, 2002

More than 100 cars turned out for the Loud & Clear USACI Triple-Point Regional in Kansas City on July 28. According to USACI officials, the annual Loud & Clear event has become the "largest parking lot soundoff" in America.  Five new world records were established in SPL competition during the one-day event. Loud & Clear's Donnie Martin said his large parking lot was packed as competitors and spectators turned out for one of Kansas City's biggest car audio events other than the annual USACI World Finals in November.  "It was a very successful show," states Martin. "USACI did an awesome job. A show like this helps build excitement for our store and car audio. We'll see the residual affects for several weeks."

CAR SOUND & PERFORMANCE FROM THE STREET - July, 2001
Some SPL powerhouses from the Midwest made the most of good opportunity on August 4 as USAC held a triple-point regional event at Loud & Clear, a retailer in Kansas City.   Four new legal world records were set at the one-day show, and all four of the new record holders are from the Midwest.  Alan Riley of Moberly, Missouri, posted the biggest legal SPL number of the day, a surprising 160.1 in the 601+ Pro division. Other records went to Shane Marshall (142.8 in 301-600 Pro), William Brooks (148.7 in 151-300 Pro), and Chris Steffensmeier (145.1 in 0-150 Consumer).  "I was really surprised we did so well, especially on a B and K meter," says Riley, who was competing in his first USAC regional event. "We had done a lot of work to the vehicle ('87 ford Econoline van). We had doubled the power, made the boxes more structurally sound, things like that. I think it's capable of doing even more if we add more power. My goal is a 163 flat."  Riley will make an attempt at that mark at the 2001 USAC World Finals, which also is held in Kansas City.  The assault on the SPL record book was surprising to just about everyone, including the event's sponsors.   "The level of competition was highest I've ever seen at a regional event," says Donnie Martin, co-owner with Tom Dinkel of Loud & Clear. "There were some really outstanding cars, both in Sound Q and SPL."  The show attracted a throng of consumers to the parking of Loud & Clear, a retail store located on the Kansas side near the Missouri-Kansas border. The Loud & Clear event is the only USAC regional competition to be held on a store parking lot, so naturally things were crowded.   "Our parking lot was packed, and so was the parking lot across the street," says Martin. "We didn't sell tickets, but I would estimate we had at least 400 spectators, not counting competitors."  There were approximately 100 competitors on hand for the KC regional. Some of them will be back for the USAC World Finals in November.  "I think it's evident from the Loud & Clear show that there are lots of very good cars in the Midwest," says USAC’s president Ralph Randall. "I expect a few of these will in the running for world championships in November."  In other news, the United States Autosound Competition International (USACi) has announced the hiring of Kristen Aycock as its new membership services representative.  Aycock will be responsible for responding to all questions and requests from USACi members, and for processing event information before and after competitions.  Aycock's hiring brings the total number of USACi staff to 19, including six in the organization's home office.
